    • Graduated from Red Oak High School in 1906 and attended Idaho State University for 2 years. He worked for a time as a lineman forNorthwestern Bell Telephone Company in Atlantic, IA, where he met his wife. They lived on the Askey farm near Red Oak before losing it to hard times following World War I, about 1924. They moved to Red Oak whereGeorge worked as a bookkeeper in a machine shop. In 1927 they moved to Neola, IA, for a short time, then to Atlantic, where George was employed as a driver of a gas delivery truck until they retired and moved to San Diego, CA. [1]
