Adopted By Ole Christian Olson & Minnie Torpen. Anna Leshar was born on her grandfather's 80 acre farm six mile S.S.E of Osseo, Jackson County, Wisconsin. Her mother died when she was young. She lived on the farm with her Grandmother Karen, and Karen's son, Ole Olson. After Ole was married in 1898, he and his wife adopted Anna. They all continued to live on the farm until 1901 when Ole built a house in Osseo. Ole, his wife, two children, Anna, and her grandmother all moved to town. Ole worked on the section for Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha RR. Anna lived with the family until 16 years when she went to live with her father in northern Minnesota near Grygla . In 1911 she married a logger, Ole Gaare, at Grygla, Marshall Co., MN. They lived at Grygla and Goodridge, Minn. 12 years, then moving to Chisholm, Minn. where Ole worked for Oliver Mining Company about three years. Ole was also employed part of the time on construction of roads and bridges. He recieved his education in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. They had five children. One died young. They were divorced in 1927. Anna moved to the Minneapolis area where she worked for different families. Sept 24, 1930 she married Oscar Wahl of Lakeville, Minn. Oscar farmed near Lakeville about 30 miles south of Minneapolis . The family moved there where they lived several years. After a change in the highway Oscar sold the farm and the family bought a home in Anoka, MN, north of Minneapolis. Oscar worked five years for Duffy's Lumber Co. making deliveries and six years for Main Motors in Anoka as a general laborer. A few years before his death they sold their house for a larger house in Anoka. Oscar died in 1962. Anna still resides at the house with her daughter, Alva, and her son in law, Joe Hendrickson.
