A certificate with birth and baptism from Reinhaard Hofer, Hans-Resch-Str.6, 94099 Ruhstorf indicates Franziska was illegitimate, name of father Joseph Wurzer, his occupation fellow shoemaker, residence county Hengersberg, village of Stritzling. Note: The Nelson chart names 6 daughters of John and Catherine: Pauline (m. Fischer); Sophia (Gigrich); Mary (Veight); Caroline (Kopp); Barbara (Annen) and Elizabeth (Annen). The 1870 census lists 5 daughters: Anna, 9; Sophie, 8; Caroline, 6; Barbara, 4; and Elizabeth, 1. The 1880 census lists 2 daughters remaining at home: Barbara, 14 and Elizabeth, 10. By 1900, John is dead and Catherine is living with her daughter, Sophia. In 1900 the census states that Catherine had 6 children and 6 of them are living. So... from the charts I am missing Mary and Pauline in the census. From the census I have an extra Anna. In 1910, Mary Veigt is listed as 49 years old which sort of matches up with Anna on the census. In 1920 Mary is listed with the middle initial A. That leaves Pauline. I have been unable to find any trace of a John or Pauline Fischer/Fisher or any children listed on the chart in Minnesota. For recording purposes, since I believe the chart to be correct, I am "keeping" Pauline as a child and will continue to look for little Fischers.
