Census:
1880 census at Polk Township, Sullivan, MO shows Ira Sears, 69, farmer, b. NY, parents b. MA/VT; Amanda, 62, b. OH, parents b. NJ/KY; children b. MO: Ira, 23; Amanda Copeland, 20, lives at home.
Note: "Phils File" source gives a second marriage date for Amanda as Jun 16, 1880, the census was taken on June 21, 1880 and shows Amanda with him. The instructions for the census ask that all persons living in the household on June 1 be enumerated. It is possible that on June 1 Amanda was living with Ira but that by June 24 she had been married and moved away. I thought the listing under occupation "lives at home" was a little odd, perhaps this explains it. On enumeration date June 22 in the same township, James Quigley is shown living with his brother Jonathon.
