Obituary: Roanoke Times, page 4 Jan. 15, 1971 Mrs. Louis J. Wilburn Mrs. Virginia Louise Neikirk Wilburn, age 80, of 420 Allison Ave. S.W., passed away in a local hospital Tuesday night. She was a former employee of The Book Nook and was the widow of Louis J. Wilburn, a former Civil Service government worker. Surviving are her son, Raymond N. Wilburn of White Plains, N.Y.; her daughter, Mrs. Samuel B. Bird Jr. of Pelham, NY; her sister, Mrs. H. C. Burgard of Street, Maryland; four grandchildren: Christopher, James and Molly Wilburn of New York, Miss Elizabeth R. Bird of Pelham, N.Y., and one great grandchild, Christopher Wilburn, Jr. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Roanoke chapel at 10 a.m. Friday by Dr. Edgar A. Potts and Rev. Samuel B. Bird, Jr. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Roundhill Cemetery in Marion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be mad to The Roanoke Valley Heart Association. Obituary: Mrs. Neikirk Dies at Harford Home Mrs. James W. Neikirk, aged 71 years, died at her home near Rocks, Md., late Wednesday evening, after a long illness. Mrs. Neikirk wasa a native of Virginia, but moved with her family some years ago to Delta, where she resided for several years. Later they disposed of their property here and moved to Harford County. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons and three daughters: F.C. Neikirk, Jarrettsville; C.B. Neikirk, Bel Air; Mrs. W.W. Greer, Ashland, W. Va.; Mrs. Lewis Wilburn, Roanoke, Va; and Mrs. Viola Burgard, Manheim, Pa. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at Highland Presbyterian Church, at 10 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. G. W. Jones, pastor of Slateville Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery. Funeral director, Hubert P. Harkins has charge of the funeral arrangements.
