Lawrence, Essex, MA [6] |
- 1920 census at Lawrence, Essex MA shows: James H. McGoldrick, 60, widowed, b. ME, parents b. IRELAND/SCOTLAND, foreman, shipping department, print works. NOTE: I do not know if this is "my" James. Some things fit and others don't, age is correct, place of birth might be correct, and birthplace of mother is not as I expected. This family had a habit of reporting their birthplace as either Maine or Canada. Calais, Maine and Milltown, New Brunswick are pretty much conjoined at the US/Canada border and families could drifted back and forth over the border. I have recorded that the birthplace of James' mother as Milltown, not Scotland but.....her name was McDonald.
