  Note	Joshua served as a colonel in King Phillip's War and in 1686 acquired title from the Indians to land and later founded the towns of Leicester and Hardwick. Purchased all of Roanoke Island from Gov. Berkley of VA April 17, 1676. In this grant Joshua is referred to as 'merchant Joshua Lamb of Roxbury, County of Suffock in New England.'
